BioSURE

Putting HIV self-testing firmly on the news agenda during World Aids Day

ABOUT THE PROJECT

BioSURE: HIV self-testing for World Aids Day

Launched in 2011, BioSURE is a UK healthtech company which pioneered the world’s first approved HIV self-test, bringing an innovative approach to diagnoses and empowering people to take control of their health.

With National Testing Week taking place in November 2019, Visible created a campaign to drive national awareness of the BioSURE self test and the importance of knowing your status ahead of World AIDS Day on 1st December 2019.

In the UK, while new HIV diagnoses had fallen for a third consecutive year, the latest data from Public Health England (PHE) reported that 43% of all diagnoses were late.

Visible spearheaded an impactful media relations campaign to position BioSURE founder & CEO Brigette Bard at the forefront of the fight against AIDS.

With storytelling at its heart, the campaign resulted in interviews for Brigette across national print and broadcast outlets including The Independent, Evening Standard, Harper’s Bazaar and London Live TV.

Visible also supported BioSURE with their exclusive red ribbon carpet event in support of World AIDS Day and the Make a Difference Trust. Featuring live performances from the world-famous Dolly Parton tribute act The Dolly Show, a host of renowned DJs and entertainers, the event also included a live-streamed podcast show hosted by Love Island contestant Dr Alex George, which saw conversations with experts, interviews and live HIV testing.
